Dear Bahá'í friends in Faroe Islands I wish you a wonderful and happy Naw Ruz. May it bring with it success in teaching our beloved cause to the world which is so much in need of it. Surely in the last 50 years, you have sown many seeds in the hearts of the people in your islands. Lets hope and pray for the speedy and healthy growth of your community.

This card comes from a friend serving at the (Baha'i) World Centre (Israel) who also comes from an island on the other side of this small planet. So Happy Naw Ruz to you all on behalf of Bahá'ís of Tasmania

Dearest Friends, It is a great honor for me to participate, even from far away, in your celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Faith in the Faroe Islands! As we have such opportunities of looking back at historical occasions we can understand and appreciate the advancement and victories of our beloved Faith and rejoice while we pay a well deserved tribute to the valiant souls that set out, alone and courageously to establish the Cause of Bahá'u'lláh all over the world. Warmest loving greetings, Hervé Masrour.

On 21 March 2003, the Baha'i community commenced a year of memorial activities celebrating 50 years in the Faroe Islands. The year was dedicated to the memory of Eskil Ljungberg (1886 - 1985), the first Baha'i in the Faroes. An exhibition entitled "Greetings and Congratulations from Around the World", was open to the public, and featured a reception on 22 March, 15:00, in the Baha'i Centre. On display were numerous picture postcards and messages sent to the Baha'is of the Faroes in honour of the occasion. The exhibit was open to the public every Tuesday (20:00 - 21:00) and Sunday (14:00 - 16:00) through 15 April. Activities throughout the year included various exhibits and the publication of a booklet about the life of Eskil Ljungberg.
